In China prisoners with communicable diseases get 'get-out-of-jail-free card'

If it weren't for the security wall, you might think you were passing by a hospice or hospital in the countryside and you'd only be half wrong. The Jinzhong Prison located in Chadian township of Tianjin, 65 kilometers from Beijing is home to 500 inmates with infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and tuberculosis.

More than a third of the prisoners, including those sentenced in Beijing, have been infected with HIV/AIDS. It's the only prison near Beijing with medical facilities able to cope with the special needs of prisoners who have been stricken with communicable diseases.

In the middle of the prison is a special medical cell block where inmates with infectious diseases live, eat and receive medical treatment.

Nurses dispense drugs daily to inmates according to drug regimes prescribed by doctors. Prisoners who are well enough exercise in the courtyard twice a day. They are also excused from work duties that other prisoners are required to perform to help their institution cut costs.

Meanwhile, when police in Dongguan, Guangdong Province discovered that the two drug dealers they had arrested were HIV carriers they simply let them go last November.

Treatment varies

The issue of how to deal with convicted criminals with communicable diseases has long been debated in China and research by the Global Times shows correction institutes have not yet found a unified way of dealing with inmates with infectious diseases.

Local police in Dongguan later explained they set the suspects free because some prisons in Guangdong won't accept convicts who have communicable diseases, as the cost of treating them is so high.

Similar cases have been reported around the country, especially in underdeveloped provinces. The police and criminals who are living with infectious diseases repeatedly play a "catch-and-release" game.

Li Yong, the spokesperson for the Gansu Provincial Public Security Department said local governments provide limited budgets to detention centers, which don't take into account extra cost of housing and treating inmates who are sick or contagious.

Li said most convicted criminals infected with HIV/AIDS will serve their terms, but suspects with other communicable diseases are not held for lack of money.

"The risk of infection faced by police when catching criminals and the difficulties the prisons and detention centers have in holding them have caused the catch-and-release games," Mian Liping, a campaign coordinator with World AIDS Campaign, told the Global Times.

Mian says society has a duty to treat people with serious illnesses humanely. "The local and central governments should at least provide special facilities in jails for those who are infected with communicable diseases," she said, adding that treating and curing prisoners of their diseases will also help stop them from spreadings.

Segregation not the answer

Mian she doesn't think segregating sick prisoners in separate prisons is the right answer. She says it amounts to discrimination and causes greater stigma that ex-cons have to deal with after they are released. "People will know they are from the prison for those with infectious diseases."

Obama's tax rate on dividends to soar to 44.8%; Retirees to get hammered

President Obama's 2013 budget is the gift that keeps on giving—to government. One buried surprise is his proposal to triple the tax rate on corporate dividends, which believe it or not is higher than in his previous budgets.

Mr. Obama is proposing to raise the dividend tax rate to the higher personal income tax rate of 39.6% that will kick in next year. Add in the planned phase-out of deductions and exemptions, and the rate hits 41%. Then add the 3.8% investment tax surcharge in ObamaCare, and the new dividend tax rate in 2013 would be 44.8%—nearly three times today's 15% rate.

Keep in mind that dividends are paid to shareholders only after the corporation pays taxes on its profits. So assuming a maximum 35% corporate tax rate and a 44.8% dividend tax, the total tax on corporate earnings passed through as dividends would be 64.1%.

Discovery...it could be really, really bad

Discovery is a wonderful thing…sort of. I’m not sure of the exact date but I knew where I was at when I made the startling discovery that the Democratic Party of the United States of America was not working in the best interests of its citizens. That was in San Antonio, Texas so the dateline would put it somewhere between 1971 and 1975. It was also around the time Henry Cisneros, the mayor of San Antonio, and Henry Kissinger were discussing that new elitists club called the Tri-lateral Commission (Kissinger, by the way, was a founding member). Now without getting into the nit and gritty of the Tri-lateral Commission let’s just say, “It’s bad, really, really, bad!” Everyone selected for membership has some sort of beef with our Constitutional Republic and they all want to be able to control all citizens in a super socialistic state.

Over time I got more and more involved with this thing called politics and the more I learned the more startled I became…probably a better word would be, “disappointed”. I was disenchanted that the party my father was so found of was not what he would agree with if he were alive today. Even that poster boy of the time, Ted Kennedy was on the flip side of his brother former President John F. Kennedy. Something really bad had happened and yet the general public was none the wiser. I took political science and history classes in college to try and get a better handle on what was going on. But then I took a course called, “Texas Politics” only to learn this has been going on for some time. Lyndon Baines Johnson was no saint that’s for sure…let’s just say, “He was really, really bad!” long before he became president of the United States.

I mentioned that the general public was none the wiser. In fact it was worse than that! They were now ignorant (as opposed to dumb)! Most everyone I would talk with was lacking in knowledge of what was going on around them. The country was literally beginning to fall apart from the inside out but you would never know if all you did was listen to the politicians and get your news from the main stream media (MSM). Everything was becoming controlled…especially with the news media! We were brainwashed with the nightly news to the extent we all believed that the most trusted man in America was CBS news anchor, Walter Cronkite*…turns out he was a traitor to the Republic and belonged to groups supporting a one world government…even stating that America must give up its sovereignty! How’s that for a discovery?

My point here is that all of us must discover for ourselves the damage being done by our elected officials. If you voted for anyone once and things got worse why do you vote for the same person again? To use the old saying, “The definition of insanity is when you do the same thing over and over again expecting different results.” Obviously I’m not the only one to discover the deterioration of the Democratic Party but when it’s a foreigner from far away New Zealand it makes me wonder how much my friends and family who are still hanging on to the Democratic Party are still absorbing their news from the MSM. Mr. Trevor Loudon gives an interesting speech at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. last October but pay particular attention to that which he says between 9:00 and 10:10 minutes…his discovery is not so wonderful. ~ Norman E. Somehow I missed this story...and somehow maybe you did, but its not at all surprising for this is exactly the kind of control the Obama administration is yearning for...irregardless of what the spokesman states in the last paragraph. Here in this country it may take a bit longer to take over control of the Internet but it can be done and Obama will find a way to do it. Further, and for those of you who voted for Hillary Clinton, same story! Hillary was the recipient of thousands of dollars when she was a U.S. Senator which was suppose to go for Internet control legislation. The legislation never got off the ground but she kept the money anyway. My point here is, all you people who think you are free and expect to remain free, just watch it all come to a screeching halt when the same administration remains in office and tightens their reins. Yeah, you might still have Internet but it will be called Intranet... and guess how much off the map that is! ~ Norman E. Hooben

Egypt has gone dark. According to Renesys, a Manchester, N.H.-based company that monitors Internet routing data, the Egyptian government appears to have taken the unprecedented step of ordering service providers to shut down all international connections to the Internet.
"Every Egyptian provider, every business, bank, Internet cafe, website, school, embassy and government office that relied on the big four Egyptian ISPs for their Internet connectivity is now cut off from the rest of the world," Renesys said in a blog post. "The Egyptian government's actions . . . have essentially wiped their country from the global map."
At 12:34 a.m. Friday in Egypt, Renesys said they observed the virtually simultaneous withdrawal of all routes to Egyptian networks in the Internet's global routing table. The company said this is different from what happened previously in Tunisia, where specific routes were blocked, or in Iran, where the Internet connections were rendered painfully slow.
The blackout also appeared to extend to mobile phones. British Telecom provider Vodafone confirmed on their website that all mobile operators in Egypt were instructend to suspend services in selected areas of the country. "Under Egyptian legislation the authorities have the right to issue such an order and we are obliged to comply with it," the company said.

And the fact that those in Egypt might not see reaction from the US government, which condemned the moves, was not lost on State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowely: "We are concerned that communication services, including the Internet, social media and even this #tweet, are being blocked in #Egypt," he wrote on the micro-blogging site late Thursday.

Registration for the 23rd annual Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., closes Wednesday, March 14, with the event scheduled for Sunday, March 25.
I recommend showing up early on Saturday to sign-in and then hang out with the crowd of 8,000-plus marchers and the few remaining survivors of the original and truly deadly march in the Philippines during World War II.
Depending on your physical condition, stamina, and Hooah ethos, the Memorial March offers a number of options -- a 26 mile course for teams or individuals who just love toting a 35-pound pack in the aptly named "heavy" division, and a "light" division sans pack for folks with enough zest to run the course, which includes the notorious sandpit.

Then there's the "honorary" division, a 14.2 mile course that I plan to do, which, alas, does not spare one the sandpit. Plus, I am convinced that every year Army engineers devote considerable energy to stretching the hills common to both the long and short courses.
I consider the Memorial March weekend one of the highlights of the year -- an exercise in camaraderie that resonates with history.

Identifying some of our national security problems, Mr. Gingrich presents one of the major arguments for getting rid of the cancer that currently resides in the White House.
Meanwhile, back to the speech...(By the way, Is that Alan Dershowitz ...zoomed in on about 0:43 seconds?) some of the speech is what I call mis-information (Yes, even Mr. Gingrich can be hoodwinked by the Obama Administration.) but if I were to identify such it would take away the intent of this posting.

The point of the CBS show 'Undercover Boss' is that the CEOs are supposed to stay 'undercover' as they work in the trenches of their own companies, their identities hidden from their employees.
But Rick Silva, the head of Checkers & Rally's drive-in hamburger restaurants, was so horrified at the abusive tone of one of his managers in Homestead, Florida, that he broke character and revealed himself in the middle of the episode.
And then he shut down the restaurant for the night, stunning the employees and shocking the manager, known only in show as 'Stevens.'
While working alongside an employee named Todd at the fry station of the restaurant, Todd is in the middle of telling Silva about his ambitions to be a chef, when Stevens yells at Todd to stop talking and cook the meat.
At one point, Stevens threatened Todd outside and beat him for not working hard enough.
When Silva questioned the employee about why he allowed himself to be treated so badly, Todd replied that he had to keep his job so he could support his mother and he worried that if he stood up for himself, he would be fired.
In response to Steven's abusive behaviour and barking orders at his employees, Silva responds by asking Stevens to speak with him outside.
When he asked why Stevens yelled at his employees, the manager explains: 'If I don't scream at them, they don't listen to me.'

Gaining confidence, the manager added: 'I'm not going to let you continue telling me I'm disrespecting my crew. Have you been in the fast food business before?'

SHERIFF'S STANDING WITH THE PEOPLE AGAINST THE FEDS ~ Larry Pratt - NewsWithViews.com

As I have reported earlier that sheriffs in New Mexico are threatening to arrest federal agents if they attempt to enforce unconstitutional federal acts in contravention of state law.

The even better news is that sheriffs in other states are doing the same. Sheriff Brad Rogers of Elkhart County, Indiana has told Food and Drug Administration agents they will be arrested if they go on Amish farmer David Hochstetler’s land. Having falsely alleged that raw, unpasteurized milk sold by Hochstetler had caused several cases of food poisoning, the FDA filed a complaint in federal court to support their attack on the farmer.

I have consumed raw milk for years and can affirm that it is not only safe, but much healthier than pasteurized milk.

The threat of incarceration led the feds to withdraw their complaint against Hochstetler. This was even after US Department of Justice attorney Ross Goldstein emailed the Sheriff that he would be arrested if he protected Hochstetler. When Sheriff Rogers refused to back down, the FDA cried uncle.

Rogers’s communication to the feds seemed to have been quite convincing: “Any further attempts to inspect this farm without a warrant signed by a local judge, based on probable cause, will result in Federal inspectors’ removal or arrest for trespassing by my officers or I.” The feds have gotten used to acting without due process -- in this case, that means not bothering to get a search warrant.

Rogers’ campaign website listed his number one objective as “Upholding the Constitution.” He is also concerned about the heart condition of his inmates and is determined to help “Provide Hope to Change a Heart.” Under that header he says, “The Elkhart County jail has 74 church services a month and allows unprecedented access to ministry volunteers. Not only can we impact inmates for the here and now, but for eternity.”

Sheriff Rogers requires his deputies to take three, two-day classes on the Constitution (at a tuition rate of $125 per person).

Rogers is not alone in his love for the Constitution. Ellis County, Texas Sheriff Johnny Brown has stated that he would resist any effort by the federal government to confiscate firearms in his county.

Sheriff Joe Baca in Sierra County, California told his county commission that he will not enforce road closures on Bureau of Land Management and Gila National Forest Lands.

Sheriff Gil Gilbertson of Josephine County, Oregon has told the Forest Service that he will protect those using the forest in his county. He has written a short treatise entitled, “Unraveling Federal Jurisdiction within a State.” It is actually a scholarly piece based on citations from the Constitution, court cases and statutes and concludes that the Forest Service has no authority in any county.

Siskiyou County, California Sheriff Jon Lopey has said: “I have told federal and state officials over and over that, yes, we want to preserve the environment, but you care more about the fish, frogs, trees and birds than you do about the human race. When will you start to balance your decisions to the needs of the people?...We are right now in a fight for our survival.” Lopey spearheaded a coalition of eight sheriffs calling themselves: “Defend Rural America.”

In the days after Hurricane Katrina, power was out for days. Food and medicine were about to be lost. So Sheriff Billy McGee of Forrest County, Mississippi -- a Democrat -- took action when he realized that a federal shipment of six trucks of ice bound for Hattiesburg turned out to be only four. McGee went in search of the other two and found them being guarded by some Army reservists who possessed bureaucratic mindsets.

McGee took steps to secure the ice, but was told he was not authorized to take the vehicles. When a reservist would not get off one of the trucks, McGee had him handcuffed. The ice was delivered where it was needed in Hattiesburg, explaining why McGee is also known as The Ice Man.

Not surprisingly, the feds have brought suit against the Sheriff in federal court. Perhaps McGee will arrest any marshals seeking to interfere with the duties of a peace officer.

It is encouraging that men of integrity, who understand that the sheriff is the top law enforcement officer in his county, have been elected in counties around the country. We should be looking for more who fit this description.

Clinton Blames Jihad on Poverty

Bill Clinton recently demonstrated the tenacity of those liberal/leftist/materialist paradigms that have all but blinded the West to reality. According to the Associated Press:

Clinton: Poverty is "what's fueling all this stuff (jihad)."

Former U.S. President [and current spouse of the U.S. Secretary of State] Bill Clinton warned Monday that the rampant poverty that plagues oil-rich Nigeria—felt most acutely in its Muslim north—is fueling the religious violence now tearing at the nation. A radical Islamist sect known as Boko Haram claimed Monday it killed 12 soldiers and beheaded three government informants in its bloody wave of sectarian violence against Nigeria's weak central government [the report later adds that Boko Haram has so far killed 286 people this year alone, that is, in just the last six weeks]. While Clinton never named the sect in a speech Monday night in Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos, he admitted he remained "really worried" about the security challenges in Africa's most populous nation."You can't just have this level of inequality persist. That's what's fueling all this stuff," said Clinton... New government statistics released Monday showed that in Nigeria's northwest and northeast, regions besieged by Islamic insurgents, about 75 percent of the people live in poverty [emphasis added].
The remainder of the article tells of how "analysts" agree with the poverty-fuels-jihad thesis, and how "Clinton called for Nigerians to embrace their similarities," arguing that "It is almost impossible to cure a problem based on violence with violence."
Thus, Clinton, analysts—even the New York Times—all offer a perfectly palatable reason for the violence plaguing Nigeria, one that accords well with the materialist worldview, and one that, as usual, defies reality. Consider some simple facts:
First, Islamists of the north, led by Boko Haram, began their violent jihad in earnest, not because they realized they were financially impoverished, but because a Christian won what was described as Nigeria's freest and fairest elections. After all, as Islamic law clearly teaches, a non-Muslim is not permitted to govern Muslims—not because he is bad for the economy, but because he is an infidel.
The full name of Boko Haram is "Sunnis for [Islamic] Propagation and Jihad"; "Boko Haram," their nickname, means "Western Education is a Sin" (not "We Kill Because We're Poor"). Their stated goal is the establishment of a pure Sharia state in Nigeria. In other words, they are like all the other Islamists around the world, many of whom are financially well of, beginning with the leader of the pack, Saudi Arabia, one of the world's wealthiest nations, and also the nation most responsible for fueling the jihad of groups like Boko Haram (just as the rich Saudi Osama bin Laden had supported the Islamist regime of Sudan, any number of wealthy donors, Saudi and otherwise, support jihadi groups like Boko Haram as part of their zakat).
Then there is the fact that, whenever and wherever a society begins to enforce Sharia, impoverishment soon follows—unless, of course, that society has natural resources to glut on. Indeed, consider the poverty-inducing consequences of Boko Haram's jihad: most recently, after reading about how "Allahu Akbar" screaming Muslims killed and wrought havoc in the Nigerian city of Kano, we discover that Kano is "the economic heart of Nigeria's mainly Muslim north."
Who, then, is really creating poverty in northern Nigeria? As we saw, the Associated Press report states that "in Nigeria's northwest and northeast, regions besieged by Islamic insurgents, about 75 percent of the people live in poverty." The implication is that poverty creates frustrated jihadis; the reality is that jihadis frustrate the economy.
The inability to accept these straightforward facts; the inability to factor ideological or existential motives, seeing only material motives (money, land, etc); the almost instinctive conclusion that Muslim violence is proof positive of legitimate grievance—all of these are so ingrained in the predominant paradigm, from the mainstream media, to mainstream politicians, and all of these are poisoning Western civilization from within, eroding its influence and capacity to act from without.

Muslim Persecution of Christians...these are the same countries Obama pays homage to!

'Good Muslims Cannot Convert to Christianity'

- She was flogged -- given 40 lashes as hundreds of Muslim spectators jeered -- for embracing a "foreign religion."
- The happy cheers of Christian children singing carols "became terrified whimpers" when four Muslims, one of them with an axe, barged into the church, slapped the children, wrecked the furniture, and kicked the altar -- for "disturbing their prayers."

The beginning of the New Year saw only an increase in the oppression of Christians under Islam, from Nigeria, where an all-out jihad has been declared in an effort to eradicate the Muslim north of all Christians, to Europe, where Muslim converts to Christianity are still hounded and attacked as apostates. According to the Chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, "The flight of Christians out of the region is unprecedented and it's increasing year by year"; in our life time alone, he predicts "Christians might disappear altogether from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt."

The Intersection

An international report found that Muslim nations make up nine out of the top ten countries where Christians face the "most severe" persecution. In response to these findings, a Vatican spokesman said that "Among the most serious concerns, the increase in Islamic extremism merits special attention. Persons and organizations dedicated to extremist Islamic ideology perpetrate terrible acts of violence in many places throughout the world: the Boko Haram sect in Nigeria is but one example. Then there is the climate of insecurity that unfortunately in some countries accompanies the so-called "Arab spring"—a climate that drives many Christians to flee and even to emigrate."
Categorized by theme, January's batch of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed in alphabetical order by country, not severity of anecdote.

APOSTASY

Iran: A Christian convert who was arrested in her home has been sentenced to two years in prison. Previously she endured five months of uncertainty detained in the notorious Evin prison, where the government hoped she would come to her senses and renounce Christianity. She was convicted of "broad anti-Islamic propaganda, deceiving citizens by formation of what is called a house church, insulting sacred figures and action against national security." Likewise, Iranian Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani continues to suffer in prison. Most recently, he rejected an offer to be released if he publicly acknowledged Islam's prophet Muhammad as "a messenger sent by God," which would amount to rejecting Christianity, as Muhammad/Koran reject it.
Kenya: Muslim apostates seeking refuge in Kenya are being tracked and attacked by Muslims from their countries of origin: An Ethiopian who, upon converting to Christianity, was shot by his father, kidnapped and almost killed, is now receiving threatening text messages. Likewise, a Ugandan convert to Christianity is in hiding, his movements severely restricted since "the Muslims are looking to kill me. I need protection and help."
Kuwait: A royal prince who openly declared that he has converted to Christianity, confirmed the reality that he now might be targeted for killing as an apostate.
Norway: While out for a walk, two Iranian converts to Christianity were stabbed with knives by masked men shouting "infidels!" One of the men stabbed had converted in Iran, was threatened there, and immigrated to Norway, thinking he could escape persecution there.
Somalia: A female convert to Christianity was paraded before a cheering crowd and publicly flogged as punishment for embracing a "foreign religion." Imprisoned since November, "the public whipping was meant to mark her release." She received 40 lashes as hundreds of Muslim spectators jeered. An eyewitness said: "I saw her faint. I thought she had died, but soon she regained consciousness and her family took her away." Likewise, "Somali Islamists arrested a Muslim father after two of his children converted to Christianity" and fled. He is accused of "failing to raise his sons as good Muslims, because "good Muslims cannot convert to Christianity."
Zanzibar: After being robbed, a Muslim convert to Christianity called police to his house; they discovered a Bible during their inspection. The course of inquiry immediately changed from searching for the thieves to asking why he "was practicing a forbidden faith." He was imprisoned for eight months without trial, and, since being released, has been rejected by his family and is now homeless and diseased.

CHURCH ATTACKS

Azerbaijan: A pastor has been threatened with criminal proceedings following a raid on his church during Sunday service. Earlier, he was told that "a criminal case had been launched over religious literature arousing incitement over other faiths," and was pressured by authorities to leave the area, which he did, traveling great distances each week to lead church services.
Egypt: Before a bishop was going to inaugurate the incomplete Abu Makka church and celebrate the Epiphany mass, a large number of Salafis and Muslim Brotherhood members entered the building, asserting that the church had no license and so no one should pray in it. One Muslim remarked that the building would be suitable for a mosque and a hospital.
Indonesia: A sticker on the back of the car of a member of the beleaguered Yasmin church saying "We need a friendly Islam, not an angry Islam," distributed by the family of the late Muslim president, prompted another Islamic attack on the church: scores of Muslims "terrorized the congregation and attacked several church members." Since 2008, the congregation has been forced to hold Sunday services on the sidewalk outside the church and then later in the home of parishioners. Not satisfied, hundreds of Muslims later searched and found the private home where members were congregating and holding service and prevented them from worshiping there as well: "It crosses the line now. The protesters now come to the residential area, which is not a public place." A new report notes that anti-Christian attacks have nearly doubled in the last year.
Nigeria: Soon after jihadis issued an ultimatum giving Christians three days to evacuate the region or die, armed Muslims stormed a church and "opened fire on worshippers as their eyes were closed in prayer," killing six, including the pastor's wife. Then, as friends and relatives gathered to mourn the deaths of those slain, "Allahu Akbar" screaming Muslims appeared and opened fire again, killing another 20 Christians. Several other churches were bombed, and seven more killed.
Pakistan: Enraged by the voices of children singing carols at a nearby church, Muslims praying in a mosque decided to silence them—including with an axe: "The children were preparing for mass to be celebrated the next day which was a Sunday. The loud cheers became terrified whimpers when suddenly four men, one of them with an axe, barged into the church. The men slapped the children, wrecked the furniture, smashed the microphone on to the floor and kicked the altar. "You are disturbing our prayers. We can't pray properly. How dare you use the mike and speakers?" (Islam forbids Christians from celebrating loudly in church, banning bells, microphones, etc.) Also, a center owned by the Catholic church for 125 years, and used for "charitable purposes"—it housed a home for the elderly, a girls' school, a convent and chapel for prayer—was demolished, after it was discovered that its land is worth much money; in the process, demolition workers destroyed Bibles, crosses, and a statue of Our Lady.
Zanzibar: Muslims destroyed two churches: one was torched, while the other demolished—all to yells of "Allahu Akbar."

DHIMMITUDE

[General Abuse, Debasement, and Suppression of non-Muslim "Second-Class Citizens"]

Denmark: In Muslim majority Odense, an Iranian Christian family had two cars consecutively vandalized—windows smashed, seats cut up, and set ablaze—because the cars had crucifixes hanging in them; the family has since relocated to an undisclosed location. Likewise, "Church Ministry" will change its name to "Ministry of Philosophy of Life" to accommodate Muslims.
Egypt: In the latest round of collective punishment, a mob of over 3000 Muslims attacked Christians in a village because of a rumor that a Coptic man had intimate photos of a Muslim woman on his phone (denied by the man). Coptic homes and shops were looted before being set ablaze. Three were injured, while "terrorized" women and children who lost their homes stood in the streets with no place to go. As usual, it took the army an hour to drive 2 kilometers to the village and none of the perpetrators were arrested.
Nigeria: Boko Haram Muslims set ablaze a Christian missionary home. Occupants of the home, mostly orphans and the less-privileged, were rendered homeless as a result. Meanwhile, a top officer allowed the mastermind behind the Christmas Day church bombings to escape, evincing how well entrenched Islamists are in government.
Pakistan: A judge has denied bail to the latest Christian charged with desecrating the Koran, under Pakistan's blasphemy laws, despite the lack of evidence against him: according to Sharia, the word of a Christian is half that of his Muslim accuser (his landlord).
Saudi Arabia: Officials strip-searched 29 Christian women and assaulted six Christian men after arresting them for holding a prayer meeting at a private home. Imprisoned last month without trial, they have not been told when or if they will be released. Authorities conducted the strip searches of the women, who insisted they had committed no crime, in unsanitary conditions. As a result, some of the women have been injured and are suffering illnesses, but authorities have provided no medical treatment.
Sudan: Authorities threatened to arrest church leaders if they engage in "evangelistic activities" and fail to comply with an order for churches to provide names and identifications: "The order was aimed at oppressing Christians amid growing hostilities toward Christianity… Sudanese law prohibits missionaries from evangelizing, and converting from Islam to another religion is punishable by imprisonment or death in Sudan, though previously such laws were not strictly enforced." Accordingly, days and weeks later, two evangelists were arrested on spurious charges and beat by police.
Turkey: A Christian asylum seeker who fled from Iran because of his faith "was brutally assaulted by his Turkish employer with hot water and his body was severely burned," due to "the extreme religious views" of his Muslim employer, who "told him he had no rights and that he would not pay him any money," after the Christian asked for his agreed wages. He "is just one example of hundreds of Iranian Christian asylum seekers who are living in such situations in Turkey."

ABDUCTION, RANSOM, MURDER

Egypt: The abduction of a 16-year old Christian girl, who disappeared over a month ago, has become a "tug of war between the Christian family and Muslim lawyers." The court sided with the Islamists, ordering the girl to be held in a state-owned care home till she reaches 18—the legal age of conversion—instead of returning her to her family. Coptic activists argue that the decision "encourages Islamists to continue unabated the abduction of Christian minors for conversion to Islam."
Pakistan: A Christian girl who was abducted in 2001 when she was 15 and forced to marry a Muslim, returned to her Catholic family after 10 years. Her case is not an isolated case: "there are at least 700 cases a year of Christian girls kidnapped and forced to marry Muslims. Likewise, "within the past three months, nine women have been abducted and forcibly converted to Islam."
Sudan: After a large truck smashed through the gates of a Catholic Church compound, Muslims affiliated with Sudan's Islamic government kidnapped two Catholic priests and "severely beat" them and looted their living quarters, stealing two vehicles, two laptops and a safe. Later, the kidnappers forced the priests to call their bishop with a ransom demand of 500,000 Sudanese pounds (US$185,530).
Switzerland: A Muslim man hacked his daughter to death for dating a Christian: were they dating in a Muslim-dominated country, the Christian, as so often happens, would have likely received similar treatment.
Syria: The Christian community in Syria has been hit by a series of kidnappings and brutal murders; 100 Christians were killed since the anti-government unrest began; "children were being especially targeted by the kidnappers, who, if they do not receive the ransom demanded, kill the victim, including some who are "cut into pieces and thrown in a river." These latest reports are reminiscent of the anti-Christian attacks that have become commonplace in Iraq for a decade.
Tajikistan: A young man dressed as Father Frost—the Russian equivalent of Father Christmas—was stabbed to death while visiting relatives and bringing gifts. The Muslim mob beating and stabbing him screamed "you infidel!" leading police to cite "religious hatred" as motivation.

About this Series

Because the persecution of Christians in the Islamic world is on its way to reaching epidemic proportions, "Muslim Persecution of Christians" was developed to collate some—by no means all—of the instances of Muslim persecution of Christians that surface each month. It serves two purposes:

Intrinsically, to document that which the mainstream media does not: the habitual, if not chronic, Muslim persecution of Christians.
Instrumentally, to show that such persecution is not "random," but systematic and interrelated—that it is rooted in a worldview inspired by Sharia.

Accordingly, whatever the anecdote of persecution, it typically fits under a specific theme, including hatred for churches and other Christian symbols; sexual abuse of Christian women; forced conversions to Islam; apostasy and blasphemy laws; theft and plunder in lieu of jizya (tribute); overall expectations for Christians to behave like cowed "dhimmis" (second-class citizens); and simple violence and murder. Oftentimes it is a combination thereof.
Because these accounts of persecution span different ethnicities, languages, and locales—from Morocco in the west, to India in the east, and throughout the West, wherever there are Muslims—it should be clear that one thing alone binds them: Islam—whether the strict application of Islamic Sharia law, or the supremacist culture born of it.

Cops: woman stole soda for can deposit

LYNN, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a Massachusetts woman bought $64 worth of soda using a stolen welfare benefits card, then immediately fed the full cans into the supermarket's automated redemption machine for the nickel deposit.

Tina Cafarelli, of Lynn, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges including larceny, property destruction and receiving stolen property. She was ordered held on $250 bail.

Police tell The Daily Item that the electronic benefits card Cafarelli used to buy the 18 12-packs of soda had another person's name on it. The supermarket manager says the full cans caused extensive damage to the redemption machine.

The 36-year-old Cafarelli couldn't be reached for comment.

Even if all logical thought brings a set of hypotheses to a conclusion agreed upon by prudent minds, the liberal will argue, “It isn’t so.” Not that they don’t have anything better to offer. It just isn’t so! Recall the recent health care legislation that not a single legislator had read prior to passage into law and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi gets on her soap box and proclaims, “Now that we’ve passed the bill, now we can see what’s in it.” But as most Americans did not want the health care legislation, Pelosi and her clan imposed the ‘just-isn’t-so’ rule; citizens would get this shoved down their throats regardless whether they liked it or not. And now that we see what’s in it, we certainly don’t want it!

As the nation goes down the path of self-destruction towards Socialism, even when history proves it a failure, the liberal will argue, “It isn’t so.” Capitalism has proven to be the most successful of all economic systems. Even Pope John Paul II appreciated the outcome of capitalistic societies[1]; it was greed that he was concerned about not capitalism. Somehow our liberal friends have gotten the idea that Keynesian economics (got a problem, throw money at it) is the way to go even though the prudent mind of Milton Friedman says, “It isn’t so!”…see video below ~ Norman E. Never let a crisis go to waste. Following the non-fiasco in the Florida in the 2000 presidential election — the vote count was off by only 44 votes out of 6 million cast, giving Bush a 493-vote win instead of 537 — Congress decided to federalize elections. The late Democratic Senator Robert C. Byrd said at the time:

While states run elections, Congress was given specific responsibility in the Constitution to alter election regulations, Byrd said.

Not to beat a dead bird, but once again Robert Carlyle Byrd was totally and unequivocally wrong. Here is what the Constitution actually says: “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.”

The only roll Congress has is determining the validity of the election to the House or Senate. (Bold underline emphasis mine NEH)

But hey, reporters never question authority unless it is Republican.

So now, 10 years later, what do we have?

1.8 million dead people are registered to vote,

2.8 million people are registered to vote in more than 1 state,

and according to the New York Times, “12 million registrations have errors serious enough to make it unlikely that mailings based on them will reach voters.”

This was the finding of the liberal tax-exempt corporation, Pew Center for the States in a report, “Evidence That America’s Voter Registration System Needs an Upgrade.”

Among the problems found by Pew: “Third-party organizations are most active close to an election, and thus submit millions of paper applications just before registration deadlines. Voter lists rely upon the information solicited by these groups, but if a voter moves, election officials are unlikely to learn of it, if at all, until immediately before the next registration deadline, when paper forms again flood election offices.”

In the case of ACORN, chaos is the whole purpose.

In its report, the New York Times recycled the lie that Florida’s election in 2000 was screwed up. Just because Al Gore said it was screwed up did not make it so. A media recount of the ballots cast found the final vote count was off by only 44 votes.

If only reporters were so accurate that they made only 44 errors out of 6 million “facts” reported.

The flaws in the voter registration rolls have a disproportionately negative impact on mobile populations, including students and other young people, the poor and members of the military, the Pew report found.

“It’s not clear that it has a uniform partisan effect,” Nathaniel Persily, a law professor and political scientist at Columbia, said of those findings. But he added that “it is now pretty clear that Democrats want to enact measures that make voter registration easier, and Republicans fear that would be an invitation to fraud.”

The Pew report compared state voter registration lists with a database maintained by Catalist, a company that collects and sells information about voting-age Americans based on data from public and commercial sources.

The United States differs from most other modern democracies in relying on a decentralized election administration system that places the burden of registration on voters rather than treating registration as a government responsibility.

The Pew report shows a crisis, but is it?

Do 1.8 million dead people on the voting rolls out of 160 million registered voters really so bad? People die and they are not automatically purged from the rolls. This is only a problem if someone votes in their name.

As much as we tease about cemetery voting, that is not as frequent as advertised.

As for being registered to vote in two states, that happens. In some cases it is nefarious. In other cases,it is just a matter of moving and failing to cancel a registration in another state. States can work it out among themselves to fix this without congressional interference.

Again, being registered in two or more states is no problem unless someone votes in each state.

Mass purges can wait until off-years and down time for election officials.

We panicked in 2000 and wound up replacing perfectly good punch card voting with touch computer voting and optical scanning ballots. What a mess. The punch cards were really, really accurate. Let’s not panic again and wind up with an even worse system — again.

Syria: Obama Takes Sides With Al Qaeda

For the most part, the mainstream news media (MSM) depicts the Assad régime as a brutal Dictatorship that goes about slaughtering its own people. While identifying those who are slaughtered as Syrians that may very well be true but the problem is deeper than that. The problem lies within the different sects of Islam, for unlike Christian sects who can get along politically with each other, (i.e. you never see Baptists at war with Catholics, or Methodists versus Episcopalians and so on) Islamists of different cults generally hate one another and there is very little toleration to be in the company of, or neighbors to one another.

Syria’s president, Bashar al-Asad, belongs to the Alawite tribe of Islam whereas the larger populations of Sunnis and Shi’ites (also two factions that do not get along) are under the control of an Alawite military. While the roles may be reversed nothing is mentioned by the MSM when tens of thousands of Alawites were killed by the other Islamists…Muslims, if you will. So we have Muslims killing Muslims in an ongoing battle that has lasted hundreds, if not, thousands of years. Are we supposed to take sides?

Well for one, Obama has already taken sides with the Sunnis and their anti-American Muslim Brotherhood but more importantly he has chosen to be on the same side as Al Qaeda in this Syrian dispute. Remember, Muslims in general want to destroy western ideology with Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood as two of their most radical proponents. (I don’t intend to get in an argument over Obama’s preferences for it is clear as clear can be what he has accomplished in Egypt and Libya.) For all you Christians who have been following the news regarding Bashar al-Asad’s slaughter of his fellow Syrians, you should know that Christians are for the most part protected under the Asad régime but will be slaughtered when the Muslim Brotherhood and/or the Sunnis come to power. ~ Norman E. Obama's dishonesty over requiring religious organizations to pay for abortion?

Obama really thinks that Catholic organizations won't feel that they are being forced to pay for contraception and abortion services if Obama simply says that they are forced to buy insurance that is mandated to have these services included and that Obama mandates that the insurance companies have to provide this for free. How is mandating that the churches provide abortion services to their employees any different than the government mandating that you can only buy insurance that contains these services? Even Obama can't believe others think that this changes anything.

The president, facing a growing controversy fueled by angry religious organizations, said religious employers will not be required to offer free birth control to their employees as part of their insurance coverage.
Instead, that responsibility has been diverted to insurers, according to the administration’s compromise. The new requirement mandates that insurers provide workers at religious entities such as Catholic universities or hospitals with "contraceptive care free of charge."
“There is no such thing as ‘free of charge.’ It’s a complete ruse,” said Dr. Merrill Matthews, resident scholar at the Institute for Policy Innovation, which advocates for free markets.
“He thinks this stuff actually comes free,” Matthews added. “It doesn’t come free. People actually pay for it and there’s an administrative cost added to it.” . . .

The Washington Post's Marcus praises Obama's "fig leaf":

. . . . Women who work for religiously affiliated institutions that morally object to contraception will nonetheless have access to contraceptive coverage free of charge, just as women who work for other employers. They won’t have to sign up for any different coverage or pay any additional money.

The employers, for their part, won’t have to pay for the coverage, say they offer it or even direct employees to places where they can obtain it. The extra cost, and here is where the fig leaf comes in, will be born by the insurance companies themselves.

This is, of course, a dodge — a quite clever and positive one. Everyone gets to say that the religious institutions aren’t “paying for” contraception. But if covering contraception ends up costing them money, you can be sure those costs will be passed along, as costs always are, to customers.

The beauty of this dodge is that it is entirely possible, even likely, that adding the coverage will not raise rates. Easier, cheaper access to contraception means fewer pregnancies. Pregnancies — and the resulting babies — cost insurers far more than birth control pills. For example, according to the Guttmacher Institute, the federal government reported no increase in costs after Congress required coverage of contraceptives for federal employees in 1998. Think of it as immaculate contraceptive coverage.

Of course, fig leaves can leave gaps. One big gap in the administration’s plan involves how to treat religiously affiliated institutions that are self-insured. In those situations, the employer pays an insurance company to administer the plan but bears the cost of medical care directly. The administration’s approach does not necessarily solve the problem for such entities. . . .

Here is the problem. If this approach really saved money, insurance companies wouldn't be trying to charge for the service to begin with.

. . . The change was initially met with a reserved response. While many Democrats praised it and Republicans dismissed it, nonpartisan groups like the Conference of Catholic Bishops said they were reserving judgment.

But the Conference, after earlier calling the change a "first step in the right direction," issued a lengthy statement overnight blasting the plan. And they joined others in calling for legislation in Congress to reverse the policy, something Republicans said they were not abandoning despite Friday's announcement.

"We think there needs to be a legislative fix to protect our religious liberties," Bishop William Lori, a member of the Conference, told Fox News on Saturday. "I think that our First Amendment religious rights are far too precious to be entrusted to regulatory rules."

Lori and the rest of the Conference said they want to see the "mandate" rescinded altogether. They pointed out several lingering concerns. They said the change appears to make no consideration for religious insurers or self-insuring religious employers -- or for religious for-profit employers and secular nonprofit employers. . . .

"And in the case where the employee and insurer agree to add the objectionable coverage, that coverage is still provided as a part of the objecting employer's plan, financed in the same way as the rest of the coverage offered by the objecting employer. . . .

Someone wrote to me the other day and said that there was no such thing as a moron. Well if that is so why are there people who are notably stupid or who lack good judgement? (That, by the way, is an informal definition of moron.) Jill Filipovic, an attorney and pro-abortionist, is interviewed by Jesse Lee Peterson regarding the practice of abortion and she is definitely lacking in good judgement. Now I don't know if she is notably stupid but she does fulfill the requirement of at least 50% moron. Filipovic refuses to admit that abortion is murder...she calls it a procedure. Well there are people out there that have no problem cutting other people's heads off...and to them it's not murder, its just a procedure one has to do to eliminate the unwanted...and it's legal in their country! For an attorney, all Filipovic is concernerd about is, 'is it legal' and not whether it is right or wrong. Taking a life is murder no matter how it is defined and murder is wrong! Power point slide shows (pps) seem to be a popular format for sending emails that describe beautiful pictures of faraway places...they're usually accompanied with some background music and short descriptons of whatever the subject matter. Some time ago a friend sent an attached pps entitled, "OBERAMMERGAU (Alemania)" and immediately recognized the name for this was one place I could say, "Been there! Done that!" I watched the slide show and gave an immediate response with a "thanks for the memories" note. The note however, turned into a short story...

After spending nine months in Sicily I was fortunate to get a transfer to Germany arriving there in May of 1979. Knowing that the Passion Play would be held in Oberammergau in the summer of 1980 (its performed once every 10 years by the villagers of Oberammergau in thanks for being spared during the great plague that killed thousands upon thousands throughout Europe), I ordered tickets (actually there was only one left through the special services office) and I was also fortunate to have received the last one.

I arrived in Oberammergau mid-day the day before the passion play was to commence so I had several hours of daylight to give it the ole foot-tour.

I remember walking along the river and meeting up with some guy fishing from the banks. He hailed me in German but I replied in English. Aah, "We have an American here." he said. And without interruption added, "I'm from Brocton, Massachusetts." "Well what

a small world.", I replied and then added, "I'm from Taunton." After exchanging some small talk about the upcoming play I moved on.

Going up a street that seemed to beckon me, I saw a monk of sorts working in his garden. The monk invited me into his workspace that was adjacent to an old monastery. He somehow recognized my American aura and began speaking in English. He himself was

originally from America but had been at the monk business so long that he wasn't sure how long he had been gone. He spoke to me about his life among the brothers and how they reeked out a meager living. And then it hit me...earlier in the day I had seen bottles
of rum in one of the tourist shops with a picture of a monastery on the label. I asked the old priest if the rum was one of his products.
With a wink of the eye he said, "Yes indeed, its one of our products and at this time of year its our only product...and a good one at that!" Getting back to my line "...a monk of sorts...", the robe and sandals gave him away but the blue jeans sticking out below the robe was another story.

I continued my walk and arrived in a neighborhood that would be the envy of most...well groomed lawns fronting nifty looking cottages...some with the "I only see it in the Alpine area" look with the extended eaves. One driveway entrance had a tree that probably died some years ago setting off to the right...but the tree was preserved with a coating of lacquer that highlighted the beautiful carving of some figures most likely carved by the homeowner (Oberammergau is also famous for its woodcarvings).

The evening was very entertaining even though I was alone... I happened upon a small somewhat crowded cafe that, like the last available ticket, had just one available seat remaining. Nobody seemed to speak English here and I was seated by a charming German hostess and whatever it was she uttered I knew I was in a friendly environment. I ordered one of those big German steins of whatever kind of beer the hostess decided upon...it was good. What attracted me in the first place was not that the place was overcrowded, it was the music coming from a trio (or was it four, I forget) playing different instruments including one of those small accordions. But it was the singer's instrument that I'd never forget. Its one of those things I've read about or seen pictures of but never actually seen a real one never mind hearing the sound of a zither. Ya know, now that I think about it, I've never seen a zither since!

I stayed at some elderly lady's home that was open for the influx of play goers but all I remember is the wonderful breakfast of fresh hard-boiled eggs and German sausage...I ate all that was brought to me...it kept coming until I had to give some sign that it was enough. I would never see this lady's lovely home again for after breakfast it was time to hurry down to the playhouse and after the play I was headed back to Frankfurt.

The play was extremely well orchestrated and the audience was very attentive...I don't know how else to describe it for the solemn respect for the theme was highly noticeable; there was never any applause until the very end. I might point out that the theatre was unique in that the stage was separated from the audience by a roofless area that allowed some natural lighting in the forefront. Whether that observation was correct or not I will never know but what appeared to me to be a natural occurring event was the thunder and

lightening that came through that roofless space at the highlight of the play...the crucifixion!

There were several intermissions during the play and at the outside I ran into more people from Massachusetts the most notable being a priest, also from Brocton, that knew my brother Richard.

I didn't know at the outset that this would lead into a story-telling moment but thanks for the memories!

Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Tuesday reported that Anonymous hacked he office of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and dumped hundreds of emails online, including damning prep notes for Assad's December 2011 ABC News interview with Barbara Walters, in which a press officer encouraged bringing up America's police response to the "Occupy Wall Street" protests as well as America's "policy to torture people," as counter-examples against allegations of Syrian regime-ordered killings.

Seventy eight inboxes of Assad staffers were compromised, according to the newspaper, including several that used the password "12345," one of the most-common but obviously least secure passwords possible.

Assad, whose regime has been condemned by the West, the Arab League and former allies, dismissed suggestions that he step down and scoffed at sanctions being imposed on Syria.

His defiant stance was on display in an exclusive interview with ABC News' Barbara Walters who confronted the Syrian dictator in Damascus with stories and evidence of civilians being tortured and killed, some of them children.
"People went from house to house. Children were arrested. I saw those pictures," Walters said to Assad.

Women with sexy eyes in Saudi Arabia may be forced to cover them up, according to the spokesperson of the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (CPVPV) in the conservative Gulf kingdom.

Spokesman of the Ha’eal district, Sheikh Motlab al-Nabet said the committee has the right to stop a women whose eyes seem “tempting” and order her to cover them immediately.
Saudi women are already forced to wear a loose black dress and to cover their hair and in some areas, their face, while in public or face fines or sometimes worse, including public lashings.
The announcement came days after the Saudi newspaper al-Watan reported that a Saudi man was admitted to a hospital after a fight with a member of the committee when he ordered his wife to cover her eyes. The husband was then stabbed twice in the hand.
The CPVPV is Saudi’s Sharia, Islamic law, executive arm and was founded in 1940 to ensure Islamic laws are not broken in public, yet over the years, the committee has been largely criticized over its human rights violations.
In 2002, the committee refused to let female students out of their burning schools in Mecca for “not wearing the proper head cover,” which contributed to a large number of dead.
15 young girls died in the fire and dozens more were injured. The CPVPV men banned the firemen and policemen from accessing the girls as “it is not okay for girls to be seen without their full Islamic dress in front of strangers.”
The committee, which only accepts and trains volunteers, has questionable powers on the Saudi street, as they operate under the supervision of the King himself.
A Wikileaks document released last year mentioned that “wild Western-style parties” are regularly held at royal palaces in Jeddah, away from the reach of the committee, who stands helpless against any royal violations.
It was reported that the parties had alcohol, drugs, dancing and sex, according to American consulate wires published by the whistle-blower organization.

Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday.
These extremists, sometimes known as "sovereign citizens," believe they can live outside any type of government authority, FBI agents said at a news conference.
The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard.

Sounds like Ron Paul supporters.

Routine encounters with police can turn violent "at the drop of a hat," said Stuart McArthur, deputy assistant director in the FBI's counterterrorism division.

"We thought it was important to increase the visibility of the threat with state and local law enforcement," he said.

In May 2010, two West Memphis, Arkansas, police officers were shot and killed in an argument that developed after they pulled over a "sovereign citizen" in traffic.

Last year, an extremist in Texas opened fire on a police officer during a traffic stop. The officer was not hit.

How widespread is the problem:

Legal convictions of such extremists, mostly for white-collar crimes such as fraud, have increased from 10 in 2009 to 18 each in 2010 and 2011, FBI agents said.

"We are being inundated right now with requests for training from state and local law enforcement on sovereign-related matters," said Casey Carty, an FBI supervisory special agent.

Meanwhile, they arrested 400 radical leftists in Oakland last week for throwing IED's, lit flares, broken glass, and bricks at police during an OWS demonstration while 18 tax scofflaws represent a threat to the republic?

The Tea Party is not a violent organization but the FBI will almost certainly be watching you if you demonstrate against taxes and regulations. And lord knows what else the Obama administration might do to address this "problem."

Tick saliva could hold cancer cure: Brazilian scientists

It may be one of nature's repulsive little blood-sucking parasites, but the humble tick could yield a future cure for cancers of the skin, liver and pancreas, Brazilian researchers have discovered.
They have identified a protein in the saliva of a common South American tick, Amblyomma cajennense, that apparently reduces and can even eradicate cancerous cells while leaving healthy cells alone."This is a radical innovation," the molecular biologist at the Instituto Butantan in Sao Paulo who is leading the research."The component of the saliva of this tick... could be the cure for cancer," she told AFP. She said she stumbled on the properties of the protein, called Factor X active, while testing the anti-coagulant properties of the tick's saliva -- the way it stops blood thickening and clotting so the tick can keep gorging itself on its host. The protein shares some characteristics with a common anti-coagulant called TFPI (Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor), specifically a Kunitz-type inhibitor which also has been shown to interfere with cell growth.A theory that the protein might have an effect on cancerous cells led to laboratory tests on cell cultures -- which exceeded all expectations."To our surprise it didn't kill normal cells, which were also tested," "But it did kill the tumorous cells that were being analysed."In her modest lab in the institute, housed in a rundown building, a line of immobile bloated ticks could be seen lined up with straws under their heads. The small amounts of saliva captured that way was reproduced many times over in yeast vats so that tests could be carried out on lab rats with cancer. The results have been more than promising. Spend $9,500.00 and save a couple of hundred...huh? How's that work out?

Back in December (2011) I scanned an article by the Associated Press concerning a fee that would be attached to new mortgages. I didn't give it much thought at the time due to a number of reasons...but oh how I should have! I picked up on it a bit by catching a segment of the Andrew Wilkow XM radio show while driving into town earlier today. Thanks to Andrew for shedding new light on this shadow tax or should I even call it rip-off-number-one to all future home buyers...and present buyers if they plan on refinancing. In esscence the politicians pulled a fast one on the American people by telling them they would continue to get a tax break for another two months while at the same time socking it to all home buyers for the next ten years in order to pay for the tax break...and even that's not quite correct because the added fee (actually a tax) will go directly back into the U.S. Treasury with no accountability (that means the politicians can spend it any which way they want.
Rather than me explain the big picture a went back to find last December's Associated Press article and with the aid of the Wilkow news letter (delivered free daily) was able to add the CBS video below. ~ Norman E. Hooben

Payroll tax cut will boost costs of new mortgages

By The Associated PressWASHINGTON – Who is paying for the two-month extension of the payroll tax cut working its way through Congress? The cost is being dropped in the laps of most people who buy homes or refinance beginning next year.

The typical person who buys a $200,000 home or refinances that amount starting on Jan. 1 would have to pay roughly $17 more a month for their mortgage, thanks to a fee increase included in the payroll tax cut bill that the Senate passed Saturday. The White House said the fee increases would be phased in gradually.

The House of Representatives on Tuesday rejected the Senate version, putting the legislation in limbo.

The legislation provides a two-month extension of a payroll tax cut and long-term unemployment benefits that would otherwise expire on Jan. 1. It would also delay for two months a cut in Medicare reimbursements for doctors that is scheduled to take effect on New Year’s Day. Two more months of the Social Security tax cut amounts to a savings of about $165 for a worker making $50,000 a year.

To cover its $33 billion price tag, the measure increases the fee that the government-backed mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, charge to insure home mortgages. That fee, which Senate aides said currently averages around 0.3 percentage point, would rise by 0.1 percentage point under the bill. The increase will also apply to people whose mortgages are backed by the Federal Housing Administration, which typically serves lower-income and first-time buyers.

The higher fee would not apply to people who currently have mortgages unless they refinance beginning next year.

Because of the weak housing market and the huge numbers of foreclosures in the last few years, private insurers have not competed strongly for business with Fannie and Freddie, which have the backing of the federal government. As a result, about 9 in 10 new home mortgages are backed by Fannie, Freddie and the FHA.

President Barack Obama and many congressional Democrats and Republicans want to curb Fannie’s and Freddie’s dominance in the mortgage market. Obama earlier this year proposed raising the mortgage guarantee fees they charge as one way to do that.

The ethics committee determines whether House members violated standards of conduct, including a virtual ban on gifts. The committee also can refer cases to the Justice Department for a criminal investigation.

It was previously revealed that Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., and Chris Dodd, D-Conn., while still a senator, had received VIP loans from Countrywide. Both said they did not know they were getting unique deals, and Dodd maintained he received no preferential treatment.

Others named as recipients of the VIP program were James Johnson, former head of Fannie Mae who later stepped down as an adviser to Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign, and Franklin Raines, who also headed Fannie Mae. Still other “friends” included retired athletes, a judge, a congressional aide and a newspaper executive.

The Senate’s ethics committee looked at the Dodd and Conrad cases and cleared them of wrongdoing but warned that they should have exercised better judgment.

The committee said the senators should have questioned why they were in the VIP program, because it should have raised red flags.

The Securities and Exchange Commission in October 2010 said that Mozilo would pay a $22.5 million penalty to settle charges that he and two other former Countrywide executives misled investors as the subprime mortgage crisis began. Mozilo also was banned from ever again serving as an officer or director of a publicly traded company.

He also agreed to pay another $45 million to settle other violations for a total settlement of $67.5 million that was to be returned to investors who were harmed.

Arizona’s maverick Sheriff Joe Arpaio promised surprises in his jurisdiction’s investigation of Barack Obama’s eligibility for the presidential ballot and his Cold Case Posse is delivering – raising questions that touch on the authenticity of the long-form birth certificate issued last April and the possibility Obama is using a fraudulent Social Security number.
Sources close to the investigation say the posse has decided it needs to see original birth records before it can conclude whether Obama should be eligible for the presidential ballot in 2012, not an electronic file or scanned copies.
The sources say the panel needs to examine the microfilm documenting Obama’s birth, as well as the ink-and-paper original 1961 birth records the Hawaii Department of Health is holding in its vault.
The PDF file and various scanned copies of the birth certificate that the White House released April 27 are simply not good enough, the posse has determined.

Earlier this month, WND senior staff reporter Jerome R. Corsi spent 18 hours over a two-day period in Arizona briefing the Cold Case Posse on a wide range of evidence regarding Obama’s eligibility.
“The posse wants to see the entire microfilm roll containing Obama’s birth certificate, not just a microfilm copy of Obama’s long-form birth certificate in isolation,” Corsi explained. “An individual microfilm copy could be forged, but forging the entire microfilm reel on which Obama’s birth certificate is in sequence would be almost impossible.”
Also, Corsi said, the posse wants the ink-and-paper original 1961 Obama birth records still held in vault by the Hawaii Department of Health to be released publicly and subjected to independent court-authorized forensic examination.
Corsi affirmed that the posse’s conclusion it needs to see the Obama birth certificate microfilm is part of the “shock” that Arpaio warned would be forthcoming, when he spoke last week to the Surprise Tea Party group meeting Surprise, Ariz.

The focus on the microfilm records of Obama’s birth arose after Arpaio’s investigators realized the birth certificates of twins born the day after Obama, the Nordykes, had been released as white-on-black copies of microfilm to the family by the Hawaii Department of Health in 1966.
WND reported in July 2009 that Mrs. Eleanor Nordyke made public the copies in an article by the Honolulu Advertiser.

WND also has reported that the Obama birth certificate’s number appears to be out of sequence with the birth certificates of the Nordyke twins.
The Nordyke twins were born Aug. 5, 1961, one day after Obama, and their birth certificates were registered Aug. 11, 1961, three days later than Obama. Yet their birth certificates have lower numbers.
Susan Nordyke, the twin born first, has certificate number 10637, and her sister Gretchen has certificate number 10638. Obama, born Aug. 4, 1961, and registered Aug. 8, 1961, has certificate number 19641.
“In 1961, Barack Obama was not a celebrity,” Corsi commented. “If the Nordyke twins birth certificates were reduced to microfilm or microfiche by 1966, the date Mrs. Nordyke got the copies she made public, then Obama’s birth certificate should have been reduced to microfilm or microfiche at the same time.”
Corsi also indicated that the Arizona posse has interviewed court-certified forensic examiners who have advised that they can only issue an expert opinion on whether Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery if they can examine the original ink-and-paper records.
Corsi told WND the Arpaio investigation is far-reaching in scope.
In addition to examining whether or not the long-form birth certificate is a forgery, the Cold Case Posse is examining evidence that Obama may have a fraudulent Social Security number. The posse also is looking at records pertaining to Obama’s birth narrative that suggest Barack Obama Sr. may not be the biological father.
“In total, the Cold Case Posse has assembled some 2,000 pages of evidence in the case,” Corsi explained, “and is now preparing to conduct interviews to examine a wide range of questions, including that Obama may not be qualified to be president under Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution because he was a dual citizen at birth, given that his father was listed as a citizen of Kenya when the future president was born.”
Corsi said the Cold Case Posse is currently in the process of briefing various Arizona state officials about the progress of the investigation.
“Sheriff Arpiao said this would be a thorough and diligent investigation,” Corsi said, “and that is exactly what the investigation has become. Sheriff Arpaio once again has proven to be a man of his word.”

There has always been a cloud of suspicion hanging over Obama's identity and I for one never for a moment believed that he is or ever was a citizen of the United States of America. Obama Tells The Catholic Church To Go To Hell

My Catholic priest, Father Larry Swink, delivered a homily on Sunday that I told him would make headlines. In the toughest sermon I have ever heard from a pulpit, he attacked the Obama Administration as evil, even demonic, and warned of religious persecution ahead. What was also newsworthy about the sermon was that he cited The Washington Post in agreement—not on the subject of the Obama Administration being evil, but on the matter of its abridgment of the constitutional right to freedom of religion.
What is happening is extraordinary and unprecedented. The Catholic Church is in open revolt against the Obama Administration, with Fr. Swink noting from the pulpit that priests across the archdiocese were joining the call on Sunday to rally Catholics to resistance against the U.S. Government. He said we are entering a time of religious persecution and that Catholics and others will have to make a final decision about which side they are on.

The issue is what the Catholic Bishops have called a “literally unconscionable” edict by the Obama Administration demanding that sterilization, abortifacients and contraception be included in virtually all health plans.

At a time when the media are full of reports about who is ahead and behind in the polls, and who will win the next Republican presidential primary, this incredible uprising in the Catholic Church is something that could not only overshadow the political campaign season, but also may have a major impact on the ultimate outcome—if Republicans know how to handle it. This matter goes beyond partisan politics to the growing perception of an unconstitutional Obama Administration assault on religious freedom. To hear the Catholic Bishops and Priests describe it, our constitutional republic and our freedoms hang in the balance.

A group of Occupy Wall Street protesters disrupted a Right to Life rally and threw condoms on Catholic school girls inside the Rhode Island state capitol building. Barth Bracy, executive director of Rhode Island Right to Life, said their rally had to be cut short after the Occupiers began screaming and refused to allow a Catholic priest to deliver a prayer.

Guest columnist Alex Alben suggests the breathless commentary of how the economy will affect the 2012 presidential election misses several nuanced points. Among them is that private industry creates most of the jobs and that government policy influence, while important, is limited.

PRESIDENT Obama and the Democrats have a problem in the 2012 elections relating to the fallacy that the party in power "creates jobs" and therefore should be punished for a high national unemployment rate.

We can trace the roots of this rhetorical canard to the Clinton era, when Democrats boasted that 23 million new American jobs were created in an eight-year span from 1993-2001. Bill Clinton can rightfully claim that fiscal decisions made in the early years of his administration, symbolized by the 1994 budget and tax increases, set a stage for private investment and economic growth. However, job growth of that era had more to do with global business expansion, a booming technology sector and gains in workplace productivity than the decisions made by the man in the Oval Office.

A president has certain economic levers to shape fiscal and monetary policy. Deficit spending by the federal government pumps money into the economy, but doesn't directly lead to sustainable economic growth. The Federal Reserve sets interest rates between banks and can work to expand money supply and restrain inflation, tuning the environment for investment.

The private sector, however, is the seedbed for jobs. Of 153.7 million American workers, according to the Department of Labor, only 2.8 million are federal workers, 3.8 million have state government jobs, and 11.1 million are employed by cities and counties. More than 88 percent of all American jobs are in the private domain.

Many factors influence economic health and hiring decisions in both small and large businesses. Consumer spending, the housing market, foreign shocks, such as wars and terrorist attacks, and the invention of compelling new products all combine to form the soup of economic activity. Job creation reflects the confidence of hiring managers that consumers will continue to buy their products and that more people engaged in making products and services will lead to long-term profit, justifying the additional costs of expanding the labor force.

Yet if job creation is an economic bet made by many thousands of firms trying to assess future economic conditions, why do politicians persistently claim that they are responsible for job growth?

Quite simply, the job creation claim worked for President Clinton in his 1998 re-election campaign and for candidate Barack Obama in 2008. We should note that the U.S. economy also expanded under George W. Bush and 3 million net jobs were created in his two terms, but the country also suffered from 22 months of recession in his 96 months in office.

Obama ran on a platform of job creation, even with the headwinds of the business cycle and the economic meltdown precipitated by the financial crisis at the close of 2008. Asking to be measured by net job creation during any four-year period is a dangerous game and it has come back to haunt our 44th president.

The topic of a president's influence on the U.S. economy begs for a long and lucid discussion rather than the ridiculous banter served up by media pundits, who opine that Obama can't win re-election if the unemployment rate stays above 9 percent heading into November 2012.

Measuring presidential performance by a single statistic ignores both the good and bad decisions made by the Obama administration regarding our auto industry, payroll-tax cuts, unemployment benefits, the bank bailout (and repayment), and stepping in to keep the global financial system from spinning out of control in early 2009.

Historian Thomas Carlyle dubbed economics "the dismal science," yet the field covers the interactions between consumers, companies, traders, bankers, markets, merchants, unions, inventors and laborers that constitute the wonderfully complex set of relationships that make the world go 'round.

If we continue to indulge the overblown claims by politicians that they can do anything more than tinker around the edges of global economic forces, then we only have ourselves to blame for misplaced expectations.

The Wall Street Journal reported [6] on January 19 that the Obama administration was pushing heavily to get the 50 state attorneys general to agree to a settlement with five major banks in the "robo-signing" scandal. The scandal involves employees signing names not their own, under titles they did not really have, attesting to the veracity of documents they had not really reviewed. Investigation is revealing that it did not just happen occasionally, but was an industry-wide practice, dating back to the late 1990s; and that it may have clouded the titles of millions of homes. If the settlement is agreed to, it will let Wall Street bankers off the hook for crimes that would land the rest of us in jail - fraud, forgery, securities violations and tax evasion. To the president's credit, however, he seems to have shifted his position on the settlement in response to protests before his State of the Union address. "This new unit will hold accountable those who broke the law, speed assistance to homeowners and help turn the page on an era of recklessness that hurt so many Americans," he said.
The Deeper Question Is, Why?
Whether massive robo-signing occurred is no longer in issue. The question that needs to be investigated is why it was being done. The alleged justification - that the bankers were so busy that they cut corners - hardly seems credible given the extent of the practice.
The robo-signing largely involved assignments of mortgage notes to mortgage servicers or trusts representing the investors who put up the loan money. Assignment was necessary to give the trusts legal title to the loans. But assignment was delayed until it was necessary to foreclose on the homes, when it had to be done through the forgery and fraud of robo-signing. Why had it been delayed? Why did the banks not assign the mortgages to the trusts when and as required by law?

Here is a working hypothesis, suggested by [8] Martin Andelman: securitized mortgages are the "pawns" used in the pawn shop known as the "repo market." "Repos" are overnight sales and repurchases of collateral. Yale economist Gary Gorton explains [9] that repos are the "deposit insurance" for the shadow banking system, which is now larger than the conventional banking system and is necessary for the conventional system to operate. The problem is that repos require "sales," which means the mortgage notes have to remain free to be bought and sold. The mortgages are left unendorsed so they can be used in this repo market.
The Evolution of the Shadow Banking System
Gorton observes that there is a massive and growing demand for banking by large institutional investors - pension funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds - which have millions of dollars to park somewhere between investments. But FDIC insurance covers only up to $250,000. FDIC insurance was resisted in the 1930s by bankers and government officials and was pushed through as a populist movement: the people demanded it. What they got was enough insurance to cover the deposits of individuals and no more. Today, the large institutional investors want similar coverage. They want an investment that is secure, that provides them with a little interest and that is liquid like a traditional deposit account, allowing quick withdrawal.
The shadow banking system evolved in response to this need, operating largely through the repo market. "Repos" are sales and repurchases of highly liquid collateral, typically Treasury debt or mortgage-backed securities - the securitized units into which American real estate has been ground up and packaged, sausage-fashion. The collateral is bought by a "special purpose vehicle" (SPV), which acts as the shadow bank. The investors put their money in the SPV and keep the securities, which substitute for FDIC insurance in a traditional bank. (If the SPV fails to pay up, the investors can foreclose on the securities.) To satisfy the demand for liquidity, the repos are one-day or short-term deals, continually rolled over until the money is withdrawn. This money is used by the banks for other lending, investing or speculating. Gorton writes [9]:

This banking system (the "shadow" or "parallel" banking system) - repo based on securitization - is a genuine banking system, as large as the traditional, regulated banking system. It is of critical importance to the economy because it is the funding basis for the traditional banking system. Without it, traditional banks will not lend and credit, which is essential for job creation, will not be created.

All Behind the Curtain of MERS
The housing shell game was made possible because it was all concealed behind an electronic smokescreen called MERS (an acronym for Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc.). MERS allowed houses to be shuffled around among multiple, rapidly changing owners while circumventing local recording laws. Title would be recorded in the name of MERS as a placeholder for the investors and MERS would foreclose on behalf of the investors. Payments would be received by the mortgage servicer, which was typically the bank that signed the mortgage with the homeowner. The homeowner usually thinks the servicer is the lender, but in fact it is an amorphous group of investors.
This all worked until courts started questioning [10] whether MERS, which admitted that it was a mere conduit without title, had standing to foreclose. Courts have increasingly held that it does not.
Making matters worse for the servicing banks, Fannie Mae sent out a memo telling servicers that in order to be reimbursed under HAMP - a government loan modification program designed to help at-risk homeowners meet their mortgage payments - the servicers would have to produce the paperwork showing the loan had been assigned to the trust.
The hasty solution was a rash of assignments signed by an army of "robo-signers," to be filed in the public records. But the documents are patent forgeries, making a shambles of county title records.
Complicating all this are tax issues. Since 1986, mortgage-backed securities have been issued to investors through SPVs called REMICs (Real Estate Mortgage Investment Conduits). REMICs are designed as tax shelters; but to qualify for that status, they must be "static." Mortgages can't be transferred in and out once the closing date has occurred. The REMIC Pooling and Servicing Agreement typically states that any transfer significantly after the closing date is invalid. Yet, the newly robo-signed documents, which are required to begin foreclosure proceedings, are almost always executed long after the trust's closing date. The whole business is quite complicated [11], but the bottom line is that title has been clouded not only by MERS, but because the trusts purporting to foreclose do not own the properties by the terms of their own documents.
John O'Brien, register of deeds for the Southern Essex District of Massachusetts, calls it a "criminal enterprise." On January 18, he called for a full-scale criminal investigation [12], including a grand jury, to look into the evidence. He sent to Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, US Attorney General Eric Holder and US Attorney Carmen Ortiz over 30,000 documents recorded in the Salem Registry that he says are fraudulent.
From Lending Machines to Borrowing Machines
The bankers have engaged in what amounts to a massive fraud, not necessarily because they started out with criminal intent, but because they have been required to in order to come up with the collateral (in this case real estate) to back their loans. It is the way our system is set up: the banks are not really creating credit and advancing it to us, counting on our future productivity to pay it off, the way they once did under the deceptive but functional façade of fractional reserve lending. Instead, they are vacuuming up our money and lending it back to us at higher rates.
"Instead of lending into the economy," says British money reformer Ann Pettifor, "bankers are borrowing from the real economy." She wrote [13] in The Huffington Post in October 2010:

[T]he crazy facts are these: bankers now borrow from their customers and from taxpayers. They are effectively draining funds from household bank accounts, small businesses, corporations, government Treasuries and from e.g. the Federal Reserve. They do so by charging high rates of interest and fees; by demanding early repayment of loans; by illegally foreclosing on homeowners and by appropriating and then speculating with trillions of dollars of taxpayer-backed resources.

Not only has the system destroyed county title records, but it is highly vulnerable to bank runs and systemic collapse. In the shadow banking system, as in the old, fractional reserve banking system, the collateral is being double counted: it is owed to the borrowers and the depositors at the same time. This allows for expansion of the money supply, but bank runs can occur when the borrowers and the depositors demand their money at the same time. And unlike the conventional banking system, the shadow banking system is largely unregulated. It doesn't have the backup of FDIC insurance to prevent bank runs.
That is what happened in September 2008 following the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, a major investment bank. Gorton explains that it was a run on the shadow banking system [14] that caused the credit collapse that followed. Investors rushed to pull their money out overnight. LIBOR - the London interbank lending rate for short-term loans - shot up to around 5 percent. Since the cost of borrowing the money to cover loans was too high for banks to turn a profit, lending abruptly came to a halt.
Fixing the System
The question is how to eliminate this systemic risk. As noted by The Business Insider [15]:

Regulate shadow banking more tightly and you probably have to also provide government backstops. Shudder. Try to shut the thing down or restrict it and you suck credit out of the system, credit which much of the non-financial "'real" economy uses and needs.

Interestingly, countries with strong public-sector banking systems largely escaped the 2008 credit crisis. These include the BRIC countries [16] - Brazil, Russia, India and China - which contain 40 percent of the global population and are today's fastest growing economies. They escaped because their public-sector banks do not need to rely on repos and securitizations to back their loans. The banks are owned and operated by the ultimate guarantor - the government itself. The public-sector banking model deserves further study.
Whatever the solution, a system that requires the slicing and dicing of mortgages behind an electronic smokescreen so they can be bought and sold as collateral for the pawn shop of the repo market is obviously fraught with perils and is unsustainable. Please contact your state attorney general and urge him or her not to go through with the robo-signing settlement, which will be granting immunity for crimes that are not yet fully known. Reading the Qur'an is not easy because it is archaic, redundant and jumbled, lacking context & chronology. The Noble Qur'an, translated by Hilali & Khan, is reputed to be 95% accurate and contains parenthetical expressions from tafsirs and the translator's footnotes. Several Surahs are essential to understanding the malignantly militant nature of Islam: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 33, 47, 48, 49 & 61. You can select them from a pick list at the top of the page.
Hadith are sayings of Muhammad, passed down from mouth to ear by his companions. They have been collected by several scholars, the most widely accepted collection being that of Bukhari. Like the Qur'an, hadith collections suffer from redundancy. Begin with Books 52, 53 & 59, then read the others if you have sufficient patience.
Tafsir are scholarly explanations of the Qur'an. They use parallel verses and relevant ahadith to clarify the verses. Tafsir Ibn Kathir is fairly complete and easily accessible. You can select the Surahs listed above and read them instead of the Qur'an & hadith to save time and effort.
Islamic biography and history are also important, but less easily accessible than the Qur'an, hadith and tafsir. Craig Winn compiled selections of the canon into a 1000 page book with the quotes compiled into handy appendices "The Prophet of Doom".
For those lacking the time, patience and ambition to tackle the large tomes, there is a short book which encapsulates the most essential information: Suhas Majumdar's "Jihad: The Islamic Doctrine of Permanent War".

You know when an ally is assaulted in such a manner true partners will race to aid their friends. So who does the Barack Obama White House rush to aid? The Palestinian Authority and their terrorist thug cohort, Hamas!

Reuters went on to report that "Hamas gunmen in Gaza said they were calling off a de facto truce in force with Israel… paving the way for a further violent escalation." All observers anticipate a massive Palestinian intifada (uprising) soon.

How much blame can be assigned to Obama for these new events? The culpability that can be ascribed to amateur foreign policy versus abject complicity with the Islamists, no one knows for sure. In this video George Soros talks about the new World Order and the “managed” “slow decline” of the US dollar. He wants a “world currency,” no doubt on the manner of the Euro, which has failed miserably. The thing to keep in mind is, this insider-trading, power-lusting, bank-breaking, media-manipulator, communist George Soros, has the full faith and confidence of Barack Obama. The new moniker for Soros is “scary dude.” Obama is the real “Scary Dude.”

Soros is credited with saying this in 1993:

He is the founder of the Open Society Institute. Think about that name. It means advocating for “transnationalism.” The U.N.’s Millenium Development Goal (UNMDG) wants human rights standards to respect the “global principle of freedom of circulation for all.”

That’s right, the same George Soros who has railed against American independence and sovereignty is now organizing a massive wealth transfer to third world countries in the name of environmentalism.
The headline should read: George Soros Led United Nations Panel Organizes $100 Billion Anti-U.S. Shakedown Effort. But that it does not should surprise none.

The New World Order will depend on taxing fossile fuels, natural gas, even the air air space our air travel uses – all of which the UNMDG calls for. More from Investor’s Business Daily:

What We're Learning about Obamacare isn't Good -- Especially for Seniors

While I taught at the University of Virginia, I served for a while as associate dean. My dean at the time, Bill Shenkir, used a phrase that I thought was particularly helpful when we were contemplating major decisions: "Let's reduce the fog factor." By that he meant that we should always examine the ramifications of our decisions on our students' classroom experience since teaching them was our primary mission.

Obamacare is an example of a federal government program that would not have been enacted if the fog factor test had been applied. While Congress debated Obamacare, talk about death panels and rationing of healthcare services abounded, but the warnings came from Republicans who were in the minority in the House and the Senate. Their objections were dismissed out of hand. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority leader Harry Reid rounded up Democrat votes and shoved Obamacare down our throats with the blessing of President Obama. The jury is still out on the legality of Obamacare, but while we wait for the courts to rule on the constitutional issues involved, the Obama administration is rapidly implementing the program. By the time the courts finally reach a decision, our healthcare system won't resemble what we had prior to March 2010 when Nancy Pelosi used her oversized gavel to pound Obamacare through the House over strenuous objections from most Americans.

Our senior citizens are most at risk under Obamacare -- especially those over 70. Rationing of services and death panels (only they're called "ethics panels" under Obamacare instead of death panels for obvious reasons) are now the rule, not the exception. I have a friend who is a loyal Democrat and a strong Obama supporter. In 2008 when she voted for Obama, she couldn't imagine that in 2012 she would have a massive heart attack and need a pacemaker. Prior to 2010 and the passage of Obamacare, that would have been a routine procedure, but not anymore. She's over 70, and under Obamacare people who are over 70 routinely receive "comfort care." That's a euphemism. It means that a panel of experts has determined that your life isn't worth saving beyond 70, so they will try to make you feel good while you die.

Where Obamacare is concerned, we're beginning to be able to see through the fog, and what we're learning isn't good, especially for seniors, and it's just the tip of the iceberg. If Obama is re-elected and Democrats retain their majority in the Senate, those "ethics panels" will busily go about doing their job and senior citizens will die prematurely from maladies that are easily treatable, and for one reason: they are over 70. That's it in a nutshell. I'm not trying to frighten anyone. I'm simply presenting a fact.

If you're a senior citizen and you want to take advantage of the medical technologies that your tax dollars paid to help develop over the years, you should think long and hard before casting a vote for Obama in 2012. For that matter, you should carefully consider the wisdom of voting for Democrats period. I'm not a Republican. In fact, I was a Democrat until 1985, but I saw what the Democratic Party stands for while I served as Virginia Governor Chuck Robb's Policy Advisor for Regulatory Reform and realized that I can't support the things that they hold most dear -- chief among them being the right of a woman to kill her unborn child without penalty or even criticism and handouts to every group imaginable without regard for morality, our nation's security, or our ability to pay.

The Republican Party isn't perfect by a long shot and neither are its candidates, but the party is trying to undo the damage done by Obamacare; it's the party that supports the right to life; and it's the party that is attempting to reduce needless spending and trying to solve our deficit and debt problems. President Obama and like-minded Democrats in the House and Senate are principally responsible for creating and exacerbating those problems. Trusting them to solve those problems is ridiculous.

It has been 3 years of 24/7/365 fight. I was defamed, viciously maligned by so many Obots (Obama bots), pro-Obama media thugs, by a few corrupt officials and judges. Recently even people, who claimed to be on my side turned sides and viciously defamed me and attacked me. Among them were Arlen Williams, Dean Haskins, owner of a blog Birther Summit, Bob Nelson-owner of a blog Birther Report or ObamaReleaseYourRecords, Helen Tansey -owner of a blog art2superpac and even attorneys, who should’ve had some professional ethics. Attorneys Gary Kreep and Philip Berg filed insane pleadings, saying that I tried to hire a hit man to kill Lisa Liberi, legal assistant of attorney Berg and kidnap children of a web master Lisa Ostella. It has been 3 years of total nightmare, these people were like a pack of wild dogs attacking me and coming up with each and every accusation in the book. Now I am vindicated. My legal action is with merit. We are going to trial on January 26, 2012. I issued subpoenas. Barack Obama through his attorney Michael Jablonski filed a motion to quash my subpoena and all the other subpoenas. I was attacked yet again in this motion. Judge Malihi just issued an order. Motion to quash my subpoena was denied. Barack Obama, President of the United States will have to appear in court on January 26 and comply with my subpoena and produce all the documents, that I demanded. Interesting, that two other attorneys are representing plaintiffs on similar matters: Van Irion and Mark Hatfield. They could have an opportunity to examine Obama with me, however either because I was maligned so badly or because they were scared to press the most explosive charges, these attorneys filed motions for their cases to be severed from my case. Their motions were granted. Irion’s case will be heard first. He stated on the record, that his case will take only 10 minutes and will be limited to ascertainment if Obama is legitimate based on the precedent of Minor v Happerset. Obama will not be answering any of his questions. Second will be a case presented by attorney Hatfield. He, also, severed his case and did not issue any subpoenas. In his motion to sever he stated that he did not want to be joined in the same complaint with me, because he did not want to be part of a case, where I brought forward allegations of elections fraud and social security fraud committed by Barack Obama. Hatfield was saying that he was afraid that his clients will be prejudiced by such explosive allegations. Yesterday, after I filed an opposition to motion to quash, attorney Hatfield tried to follow suit by filing a notice to appear, however notice does not have as much of a force as a subpoena and I do not believe Obama will be complying with a notice, particularly since Hatfield’s complaint does not entail the same charges as mine. My case will be heard third. My case will not be limited to definition of natural born based on a case Minor v Happersett. I will be also presenting a case, showing that elections fraud was committed by Barack Obama, that he is using a forged birth certificate, stolen or fraudulently obtained Social Security number and that there is no evidence to believe that the last name he is using is legally his, due to the fact, that in his mother’s passport he goes under the name Soebarkah and in his school registration in Indonesia he went by the last name Soetoro. There is no evidence of legal change of name.
I wanted to thank people who helped me along the way with donations, who did not stick a knife in my back, like the ones mentioned before. I am asking my supporters to donate to this work, as I am paying for airfare and hotel of witnesses and a number of other expenses. Make no mistake about it. This is the beginning of Watergate2 or ObamaForgeryGate. I believe this is the second time in the U.S. history a sitting President is ordered to comply with a subpoena, and produce documents, which might eventually bring criminal charges to the President and a number of high ranking individuals.
I feel extremely proud to be a part of this historic moment. I guess an American dream is still alive, as this subpoena was issued by an immigrant, who was raised in a communist dictatorship of the Soviet Union and came here with one suitcase with a couple of dresses, who had to study English, to study law at night, while working as a dentist and raising a family with 3 children. Only in America is this possible.

Greetings Dr Taitz -- It is a pleasure to speak with you again. There are many conservatives living in the EU have witnessed (first hand) the changes a country goes though when a silver-tongued socialist or dictatorial figurehead and their absolute-power form of government strong-arms their way into power through a chain of corruption that is supported by a barrage of Utopian-like propaganda that, in the end, may be nothing like what was promised in the campaign, but designed for his/her's ultimate success. This is similar to a bloodless coup.

Once in office, those who loyally assisted in his/her successful rise to power are then rewarded with a lucrative "Thank You" in the form of an appointment to a high position within the new Administration. If there are not enough government positions available, the new leader will then create a position of limited power like a Czar, that could oversee an entire department within the government - whether the loyal subordinate has experience or not in the position (sound familiar?).

Dr. Taitz, you will be pleased to learn that many Europeans and people living in other regions around the world are aware of your gallant efforts to bring certain Articles of United States Constitution to the "table of compliance" which addresses not only Obama's eligibility (or ineligibility), but also his explanation of why he is alleged to have been using a fraudulent CT social security number when, in fact, Mr. Obama has never lived in Connecticut.

In addition there are a growing number of questionable transactions including what has become a "Solargate", of sorts in which hujnfreds of millions of taxpayer dollars was handed out to at least two solar technology companies that Mr.Obama had quietly authorized. "Solorgate" may also be connected to a relative of a prominent democrat that could be a conflict of interest and prove costly for Mr. Obama and the American people.

I have noticed a recent increase in the number of "conservative Europeans' who sympathize and support attorney Dr. Orly Taitz's uphill legal battles and the majority of Americans who are also fighting for America to "stay American" and keep their American way of life in tact. They (we) want to prevent the USA from having to endure the radical social and political fates that other countries have met.

Those foreign-born "patriots of conservative government", even though they live in the EU, are starting to speak-out on our behalf the United States (we Americans) because they, too, see the disturbing similarities in the sequence of events that has happened during the process of change their own country went through. They fear they are witnessing a similar scenario in the direction that Mr. Obama is attempting to take the USA.

In my opinion, I think the growing number of people living in the EU who are pro-American are worried that if the United States were to keep on their current path and fall into a socialist form of government, America's defenses will certainly erode by design and the desire to protect and keep those smaller and more politically vulnerable democratic nations will diminish as well, leaving smaller democracies even more vulnerable to unwanted political and in some cases military aggression by others -but this time with no "Big Brother" USA to come to their rescue.

They do NOT want to see America, the greatest and most generous country in the history of the planet, to have to endure the same suppressive changes and challenges they went through in their own country. Dr. Taitz knows this first hane, immigrating from a communist country herself and "Americanizing" herself to rise up and become a noted proponent for the return of relevancy of the Constitution and the preservation of "the American way of life".

Thanks to true American patriots like Dr. Orly Taitz, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and a few others who have engaged themselves in upholding the Constitution of the United States by challenging Obama's eligibility to be president as well as other legal issues that appear to be part of a pattern of deception in which Mr. Obama has followed to gain enough control to be handed the keys to the White House. Some Europeans and others know the truth about Mr. Obama. Why can't the USSC see it? Or d they see it and are afraid to investigate because of political pressure to "just let it ride" and to not jeopardize their own positions by obligating themselves to further investigate the issues if their first round of discovery proves what Dr. Taitz, myself and others already know to be true.

In my opinion, the USSC and others who have been asked to engage themselves and their resources in this historical investigation fear they may become directly involved in the biggest case of political fraud the United States has ever seen of which could prove costly to them and their careers. On the other hand, they could become heroes for upholding the integrity of the Constitution and the United States.

The following front page of "The Globe" was sent to me today from a close friend and fellow/lady conservative in Germany. She, as well as many of my friends, family and associates have followed your admirably tenacious and bird-dog-like efforts in nailing this squatter who has homesteaded himself and his tight-lipped family in the White House and armed himself with his team of attorneys whom, themselves, MUST know the truth about their employer but fail to act on America's behalf. Obama's lawyers continue to fail America's Constitution and what it stands-for.

Once in awhile the "Globe", "National Inquirer" and a few of the gossip rags get the story right and and develop the gonads to publish the scoop first ("publish" being the key word). In this case, the entire liberal media has known the truth. and thanks to courageous attorneys like Orly Taitz and a true American patriot Arizona Sheriff, the constant coverage and pressure to produce will eventually force the USSC to finally step up to the plate and act on behalf of the people of the USA and the Constitution of the United States.
